Welcome to the ACEWM Student Member webpage. You’ll find all sorts of good information here!

We are thrilled to have you join the ACEM as a student member! The ACEWM has 4 busy Special Interest Groups (SIGS) – Biophysical Agents, Electrodiagnostics, Neuromusculoskeletal Ultrasonography, and Wound Management - each with lots of opportunities for student involvement.

The first step to engagement is to join one or more of the ACEWM’s SIGs for free. To join, click on “Become a SIG Member ”. Joining a SIG will add you to that SIG’s listserv so you’ll receive all the latest communications for that SIG. Contact your Student Liaison if you’d like to increase the value of your membership dollars by getting actively engaged in one or more of the SIGs, we’ll get you connected to SIG leaders and into the latest activities.

As ACEWM members, students also receive ACEWM’s monthly newsletter. Newsletters are sent to the email you have on record with APTA. If you missed one, click on “Newsletters” to see past issues. If you’d like to be featured in the Student Highlight section of a future newsletter, please contact your Student Liaison and we’ll get you in! Student members can submit items for newsletters - email pictures and write-ups to newsletter@acewm.org by the 15th the month to have your items in that month’s newsletter. This is a great way to share your activities, news about your clinical experiences, etc. We’d love to hear from you!

Student members also have access to free online education sessions and discussions. Click on the “Sessions and Discussions” bullet to view past recordings. We try to offer 4-5 live sessions a year via Zoom and post the recordings. If you have ideas for future session/discussion topics, contact your Student Liaison and share your thoughts.

If you’re interested in networking with other ACEWM students, join the “Student Google Listserv ” and start a conversation, pose a question, etc. Only student members (and the Student Liaison) may join this listserv – it’s for you! If your primary email is associated with your education program, you might have difficulty using the listserv as some universities block Google listservs. If you experience problems, contact the Student Liaison.

The Student Liaison primarily communicates with ACEWM students via email – so please make sure APTA has your correct email. We don’t want you to miss out on upcoming events or announcements.

Again, thank you for joining the ACEWM as a student – we hope you will get involved in Academy activities now and continue your active engagement after graduation. There is so much to be done to keep our profession (and the unique areas of practice represented by the ACEWM) moving forward – let’s work together!
